VMA GROUP Sources Head of Communications Maternity Cover for Life Science Company, RedX.
RedX is a clinical-stage biotech life science company focused on the development of small molecule, targeted treatments for fibrotic disease and cancer.
After successfully placing RedX’s permanent Head of Communications in the role several years ago, Caitlin Pearson reached out to VMA GROUP for support in sourcing a cover while she was on maternity leave.
Given the work Caitlin had done in putting together the communications strategy during this very important stage in RedX’s development through clinical trials, getting this role right was crucial.
As a standalone communications advisor, responsible for both complex scientific comms as well as engaging potential investors about developments, there was a need for someone that would be able to speak to both audiences in a comprehensive manner.
VMA GROUP’s Julie Mazzei took the lead on the search. With an extensive network of the communications talent within the region, and a history of working in communications herself, Julie was able to work in partnership with the team and tailor the search to their specific requirements.
After a thorough search of the candidate marketplace, she came across Erin Hamid, a highly qualified communications professional with experience working across both big pharma and smaller biotech scale ups and able to develop both the scientific and investor narrative.
