Andrew McConnell
Andrew McConnell is the Head of Media and External Affairs at the CAA. Leading the Media & External Affairs team, Andrew has over 30 years of experience in the Transport Sector, working with both UK and international airlines. His crisis management expertise includes handling the response to the 7/7 London Bombings, the 2010 airspace closure due to the Icelandic volcano, and the collapses of Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook, and Flybe.
Robert Crawford
Robert Crawford serves as the Media Lead at the CAA, where he oversees daily media operations. His role ensures the communications team maintains a high standard of quality across press releases, social media posts, and media responses. Robert has managed several complex crises, including leading the response to the Carmont rail crash and the recent Flybe collapse. He also played a key role in shifting the narrative around space regulation.
