About Lucy
Professional Summary
As Managing Director and a Board member of VMA Group, I support clients with executive search and senior appointments across corporate affairs disciplines. In addition, I have developed and lead on VMA Group's Advisory Services and consultancy programmes. I also run our Advisory Board for Corporate Affairs Directors and am always looking for new members to join this brilliant quarterly group.
What did you do before you joined VMA?
Having spent the first 5 years of my career in publishing, I moved to communications recruitment in 2005 and joined VMA Group in 2008. I was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2019.
Why do your clients enjoy working with you?
Having been operating in the communications recruitment industry for 20 years, I have a strong network of contacts across multiple sectors. I think this gives confidence to those who are looking to work with someone who knows the market inside out. Hopefully, they also enjoy working with me personally.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love seeing VMA Group and those within it being successful. We are a great business and have a lovely team who genuinely care about what they do. I really enjoy the business development side of the role, meeting new people, hearing about organisations new and old, and the level of commercial acumen and adaptability you need to do the job successfully too.
What are your interests outside of work?
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family whether that’s outdoors or going to see a play or to an art exhibition. I love swimming outdoors, whether that is in a lido, reservoir, lake or the sea. It’s somewhere I can leave everything behind and just be in the moment and sometimes it takes my breath away…quite literally.
