The NNC Meet Again…
The NNC Network recently held its second event, marking another milestone for this vibrant community of non-native English speakers in internal communications. With over 70 members from 30 nationalities, the network is a testament to cultural diversity and the shared challenges faced by professionals in the field.
Highlights from the Event
The event on August 17th was a significant day for the non-native comms community. It began with an overview of the network’s progress and future plans. A key highlight was an interview with Talita Abrantes, a Brazilian internal communications professional, who shared her journey of entering the UK market.
Talita, who moved to the UK in 2021 for her International Marketing Masters at Kings College London, discussed the cultural differences in interview styles and the challenges of explaining Brazilian brands abroad. The event, hosted at Hanover Communications with views of St. Paul’s Cathedral, encouraged lively discussions among attendees.
