Thames Water are the UK’s biggest water and sewerage company for London and the Thames Valley. Servicing around 15 million customers across these regions, the work they do is massively impactful in ensuring their customers day to day lives run smoothly.
Having worked with VMA Group in the past, Thames Water called upon us to seek out an Employee Communications Executive to join their Internal Communications team. They were searching for an IC whizz capable of delivering effective internal communications advice, planning and activity to the company across different functions. With duties including creating content, developing comms and engagement strategies and creating and leading project groups, it was vital that the candidate had previous experience in communications channels and campaign handling. Following a briefing call, VMA Group led the search to find the perfect new employee.
After promoting the role to our network, we connected with an individual reconsidering her career prospects after being on maternity leave. Having previously worked in a similar role, as well as within the logistics industry, this candidate was experienced in communicating with non-desk employees, a valuable skill to have, given the nature of working within a utilities company. VMA Group supported and advised the candidate along the application process, who was then offered the position at Thames. Since beginning the role in May, the new employee has got stuck into their role and is an asset to the Internal Communications team and the wider company.
“Massive thanks to VMA Group for helping me find my new role. The support during the whole process was invaluable. They gave me some great tips and advice to help with the interview and kept me informed throughout. Thank you!”
