Media Relations Manager

The opportunity

My client is a leading player in the global technology industry, and is looking for a Media Relations Manager to shape narratives, foster relationships with media and drive engagement within the sports and entertainment world.

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Communications Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Craft compelling narratives from intricate business news, innovating ideas, leveraging data, and crafting engaging content for media dissemination.

  • Build and nurture relationships with target media, curate media lists, and stay abreast of industry trends for comprehensive coverage.

  • Coordinate press office activities, managing calendars, documenting milestones, and ensuring seamless media engagement.

  • Analyse press office performance, collaborating with suppliers for insightful reports, dissecting media coverage, and suggesting improvements.

  • Navigate industry developments and issues, maintaining media statements and trackers, particularly in the sports and entertainment sectors.

  • Collaborate across teams to execute communication strategies effectively, going beyond roles to drive collective success.

The ideal candidate

You will be an effective communicator with strong writing skills. Media relations background is crucial to be successful in the role with a clear understanding and relationship with the press, either from working in-house or in an agency. You will also have good corporate communication understanding and would have ideally worked for a consumer brand.
