​VMA GROUP is proud to have partnered once again with Stonewall, one of the largest and most influential LGBTQ+ rights organisations in Europe, this time to recruit a new Head of Communications & Campaigns to support its work during a critical stage in its evolution.

We are looking for a robust newshound, the kind of seasoned practitioner who knows exactly how to create and deliver impactful stories.

As a trusted senior advisor with collaborative style, you’ll bring bags of strategic communications acumen and the ability to articulate your ideas clearly and empathetically to a diverse range of engaged stakeholders both internal & external.

This role has 5x direct reports across Stonewall’s national network, covering campaigns, PR/media and digital. Being equally comfortable with day-to-day tactical delivery, you’ll therefore be someone with demonstrable experience of supporting and growing teams in transition and the credibility to role-model the charity’s values and standards of behaviour in everything you do.

Reporting to the Director of Campaigns & Human Rights, you’ll be responsible for helping to turn Stonewall strategy into action with tangible impact. To do this successfully, you’ll need to ensure that the voices of all communities Stonewall represents - and their allies - are heard in the decisions it makes, with a particular focus on trans and BAME communities who have historically been excluded. While you don’t need direct sector experience, an interest in and/or a professional understanding in these areas would naturally be helpful.
