Overview
We are seeking a Senior Advisor with extensive experience in European economic policy, ideally from senior roles within the European Commission, national ministries, or equivalent institutions. The ideal candidate will have advised decision-makers at high levels, particularly in areas related to economic security, finance, and regulatory frameworks within the EU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice on economic security issues, including protectionism, foreign investments, trade tariffs, and broader economic policy trends within Europe

  • Offer insights into the decision-making processes of EU institutions, particularly within the Directorate-General (DG) for Trade or related sectors

  • Analyze and interpret political and regulatory risks to inform investment strategies, with a focus on real estate, private equity, and high-net-worth clients across various industries, including tech, FMCG, and property

  • Work flexibly to deliver timely, data-driven insights that differentiate substantive developments from speculation, aiding clients in making informed decisions

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, leveraging your network and expertise to provide clients with a competitive edge in understanding the direction of EU policy and its potential impacts

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Senior-level experience within EU institutions, finance ministries, or related bodies, with a strong background in economic policy and security. Experience advising high-level decision-makers is essential

  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of EU economic and trade policy, including the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and assess political risks

  • Network: Established connections within the EU policy-making community, particularly in Brussels, with a natural ability to leverage these networks for the benefit of clients

  • Character: A seasoned professional who is motivated by the opportunity to stay engaged in the field on a part-time basis, offering valuable insights without the need for a full-time commitment. The candidate should be comfortable working independently and trusted to manage responsibilities autonomously

What Our Client Offers

  • Flexible Working: The role is designed to be part-time, allowing you to balance professional engagement with personal interests. You will work remotely, with minimal client interface, focusing on delivering high-quality, strategic advice

  • Diverse Clientele: You will support a stable and select group of clients, including private equity firms, high-net-worth individuals, and global investment entities, across various sectors such as real estate, tech, and FMCG

  • Strategic Impact: Your insights will directly influence investment decisions and strategic planning for clients with interests across Europe and beyond

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional that can be located either in Brussels or London, looking to remain active in their field while enjoying the flexibility of part-time work. The position does not require relocation to Brussels and can accommodate candidates seeking to compartmentalize their professional engagements.
