King’s College London is one of England’s oldest and most prestigious universities, and today remains a leader of research and teaching institutions in the UK.
Having worked with VMA GROUP over the last 10 years, King’s College counted on us to place a Change Communications and Engagement Manager. Sitting within the Corporate Communications department, this person would be responsible for delivering activities to support the implementation of the Student and Education Directorate (SED) Transformation Program across the university. Further duties of the role included creating content for internal channels and delivering effective change comms and engagement activity. Therefore, it was important that the candidate had proven skills in engaging with internal audiences and implementing change communications, specifically within a complex academic or public sector environment.

Previously working at the University of East London, they were responsible for all stakeholders’ engagement in relation to the university’s change programme.
In addition, having worked in multiple public sector organisations, the candidate possessed a strong profile of expertise in internal communications and change campaigns, and the ability to lead large-scale teams, an essential skill needed to support KCL’s largest transformation to date.
Deborah supported the candidate throughout the entire application process, and eventually the offer was accepted. The new employee embarked on their new contract role, quickly becoming a key player in supporting transformation within the Corporate Communications team.
